Isolated jean louis petit lumbar congenital hernia in a 18 months old girl at the teaching hospital of treichville

Résumé
Les hernies congénitales de la paroi lombaire sont des localisations de hernie rarement rapportées. Ces hernies apparaissent fréquemment dans un contexte polymalformatif. Nous rapportons un cas de hernie congénitale lombaire de Jean Louis Petit sans anomalie associée, chez un nourrisson de 18 mois. Le diagnostic était évoqué devant une volumineuse tuméfaction pulsatile expansive et réductible de la région lombaire. L’échographie et le scanner abdominal confirmaient le diagnostic. Le traitement entrepris était chirurgical et reposait sur la fermeture du défect par raphie. C’est une affection chirurgicale avec un pronostic excellent, en absence de malformations associées engageant le pronostic vital.

Summary
These hernias are frequently associated to others malformations. We report a case of infant aged 18 month with Jean Louis Petit Lumbar congenital hernia without associated malformations. Diagnosis was evoked in face of expansive, pulsatile and reductive swelling in the lumbar area. Ultrasound and abdominal CT confirmed diagnosis. Treatment was performed by abdominal defect closure with stitches. It is a surgical pathology with excellent prognosis in absence of associated malformations which can be lifethreatening.
